Barriers to Accessing Digital Learning
- Cost- Due to the high cost of Internet access, it limits access to digital learning for a group of student/people that cannot afford computers or Internet.
- Age- Since the Internet is one of the most evolving forms of technology; many older individuals have limited understanding of the Internet and how to use a computer.
- Accessibility- Access to the Internet can be limited in some rural areas as well as language concerns can prevent others from research.
Steps to Eliminate Barriers
- Continue to focus on creating access points in communities that have limited access
- Community groups, organizations, schools should provided access to courses and the Internet to help individuals develop necessary skills
- Continue to publicize information about programs for affordable Internet to families.
- Increase the hours of availability for computers and other resources in our communities.
